Very nice looking bow, and that grass carp pattern is way cool.  I sure hope they don't make it to the Great Lakes though!  I would rather deal with some of you guys for the skins!

John is that the bow you were "rubbing" on at the pavillion that night? I was wondering if I did fishy skins over my purple bow, would it show through like the osage does? BTW that bow turned out pretty cool. Gonna borrow a digicam and get pics up soon. One cool effect is that the purple dye on the bamboo side changes back and forth to an irridescent (sp?) green in the sunlight. coooool.

I threw my carp skins in the back of my pickup at Mojam. Whew, truck smelled like a Chinese fish market for awhile. They are in a zip lock plastic bag now.

Tom, This is a different bow than "Slowbow".  I'd say the purple would show through but it might be cool.  Looking forward to seeing your purple bow.  I wanted to take a look at MOJam but...

Mickey, The tips look bigger in the pic than they really are.  They will be reduced some but I want to shoot it to see how much shock it has.  It was shocking pretty good a MOJam but I hadn't reduced them at all.  This mesquite is pretty light and soft so I don't think it will be too bad on the elbows.

I was gonna tell ya at mojam, that I usually do my tip overlays before I lay down the skins,that way I don't have to be so "polite" with the files and sandpaper, but I see that you did a bang up job!

Yea, I thought about that.  But it's really tough to get away with using a belt sander in a hotel      It worked out OK but I scuffed the skins in a couple places.
