das strings
« on: January 02, 2008, 09:15:00 PM »
Anybody shoot these strings. If so what is the advantage of using one. I got a Gamemaster II and was thinking of replacing the string with one of these if I can be convinced they are worth the money. Thanks,RC

Get yourself some Bowhush and Hush Puppy or cat whiskers and you'll be better off.

Get yourself a mountain muffler!  Quietest string I've seen on a recurve.

I had one of the silenced ones and although very well made, I did not find it was worth the $29.95 price tag.

I thought DAS strings specified they were for DAS bows?

I have both the new style and the older style. IMO the older style with wool were worth the price.  These are no longer made.

Mountain Muffler strings are as good as any I've seen.  I also have Hush Puppys and Bow hush on a couple strings. Give pretty much the same type of performance.

As it stands right now, I'm planing to order a couple more strings, probably Mountain Mufflers.

I know cat whiskers, other silencers work well, I just like wool.   :)

RC I had Primetimestrings.com make a new string for my DAS.It was a padded endless loop 8125 string with silencers on the loop ends.He makes an excellent quaility string for all bows endless loop or flemish.

I just got a das string for my gamemaster II as well as the silence kit.  It is well worth the price. It reduced the sound by half.

I didn't like the bowjax silencers that came on my DAS string. It only took a few hundred shots before they had shot off.
