Shadows/flash ?

When posting pics of bows to sell or show what is the best way to get good pics.If I suround my object buy lighting I get shadows.Would it be better to turn off my flash?

I take mine outside and photograph in the open shade or sun if there's high clouds.

Outside in shade is the easiest way to avoid harsh shadows.  You can also use a reflector to fill in shadows.  If you can get your flash off the camera you can direct it from the side and use a reflector on the other side.

I find it's helpful to use a nice background and, when possible, light it slighty with a flash (assuming you can get the flash off your camera).  Here's an example of that-

Phil, Phil, Phil, don't know what to think of you.  First you shoot Nikon, now Black Widow....you're somewhat of a renegade, ain'tcha?

Jerry, I'm probably more of a renegade than you know....I haven't shot that Widow for a couple of years.  Got into shooting Howard Gamemasters and now I'm hooked on metal-riser bows (perish the thought).  I'm shooting a Warf bow and should be getting a DAS in a little more than a month.  I'll post a photo of it when it gets here.

But I have stuck with Nikons for the last 25 years or so.

Jerry you know it ain't a thing wrong with us nikon shooters. i thought about switching myself about 3 years ago, but couldn't afford to switch everything.  had way to much nikon accessories and lenses to make it cost effective. i'm right with you Phil, been clicking the nikon shutters for 30 years now myself. i still remember my first nikon EM. boy have cameras changed since then.
