Broadhead adapter/glue or screw
«

I am going to be trying out some aluminum arrows and need some input as to what you guys prefer for adapters for glue on broadheads; the kind that screw in or the ones you have to glue into the shaft.
Besides the obvious that you can easily change points with the screw in, what are the pro's and con's of each?
Thanks

I like the glue-in shaft ones, because when I practice with my broadhead arrows, I don't have to worry about them coming loose. I prefer a locked-in-place broadhead!

Well I use the screw in with field point. It is easy to screw them back in once they're loose.

Sounds good to me. I was about 80% decided on the glue in's before I posted, just thought maybe there was something I was not considering.
Thanks guys

Since I prefer gluing on my broadheads, I send my aluminums to Mike's Archery in Ohio and have them swagged.

Joe, do you mean that by swaging the arrows you can glue the heads direct to them?

I greatly prefer the glue-in adapters. We used to call the Flightmate adapters, but I'm not sure if there's a different name for them now. Like Mike said, they generally weigh the same as the regular RPS adapters.

yes there are swaged shafts that you glue the broadhead directly to the shaft. black widow used to sell swaged shafts but i dont know if they still do.

Ok now that I have decided on the glue in's can anyone tell me what diameter glue on field point I would need to fit a 1916 glue on adapter? choices are 5/16,11/32, and 23/64.
Thanks!
