The arrows were sitka spruce.  If you look at his quiver they are the yellow crowned ones with the splicing in the feathers.  Im guessing the arrows flew great for you and Im super happy that they brought enough luck with them to get you a goat.  Congrats...

Should we tell 'em about Ron & Bob's...erm...'foreign' adventure?   :biglaugh:

Or possibly the 'redneckin''?

Or the mystery night-time Rabbit thief?

Oh, where to start! (Or as far as The Wife's concerned, where to bloody stop!  :D )

Or Gary saying "Whut da heeal'd he saay?" every time I spoke?    :biglaugh:

Or Brent & Sassy's howlin' contest?

Or Larry's 'Forgotten Conversation' & swimmin' for arras?  :p

Terry - Are you sure?

By all means, it's nice to be back home for a few days but I'm still suffering badly from the "after-sweat" syndrome. Curtis, Charlie and I have talked about this malady before and it seems that we've all suffered from it for some period following the Sweat. It's like a bad withdrawal syptom, brought on by being denied the wealth of companionship we've enjoyed with our best friends (now family), both old and new, the excitement of the plethora of hunting stories told over and over, the laughs we enjoy during the mid-day and evening gatherings, the sense of oneness that is developed over the course of the hunt, and the desire to keep it going as long as we can. Or then again, it could be simple exhaustion!

I know I have a wealth of memories to cherish as well as a renewed pop in my knees and back each time I stand and attempt to walk, but they'll be gone (I hope) by the time the next Sweat rolls around.

As the participants of this years Sweats roamed the hills I was able to make some observations that you may find interesting:

Biggest Chow Hound – Ron (BigRonHuntAlot) Andrews by a hind-quarter.

Most Jalapenos Eaten – Jeff (Tippit) Springer tied with Rob (Robtatto) Peel, with Bob Walker running loosely (but frequently) in second.

Most Tecate consumed – Bob Walker, Bob’s big but the Jalapeno’s helped him in this running.

“Iron Man” designation – Dave (HuntIt) Stinson, followed closely by Ted Fry and Walt Francis. All three ran a close race for time spent on the slopes; it was only Dave’s time in the river and the non-stop drive home that gave him the lead as this years toughest Sweater.

Brightest Legs -  Brent (Hormoan) McCormick, suffered sunburn on his legs from exposure to Charlie’s flashlight.

Best Cookies – Miss (JC) Kim Coots. . sorry Group 2 didn’t get to participate in the judging.

Biggest Hat – Larry (Caddo) Dix, leave it to a fellow Texan to dominate.

Strangest Hat – Terry “Bushyhat” Green.

Most Carp by Bowfisherman -  Mark Horne, I lost count of how many.

Best Bowfishing Shot -  Joe (Whip) Lasch, carp in-the-eye!

Most Unique Bowfishing Kill – Rob (Robtatto) Peel – Talapia.

“Bull Shipper” Extraordinaire -  Vance (Iron Bull) Brewer, the “Bull” just comes natural for this guy.

The Next Butt I’m Gonna Kick as soon as I see him -  Terry (Mr. Green) Green

Biggest Billy – Rob (Robtatto) Peel

Biggest Ram -  Dave (HuntIt) Stinson

Biggest Nanny  - Terry Green, followed closely by Joe (JC) Coots

Biggest Ewe  -  Ted (Accidental) Fry

Don't know what was so funny it made Charlie want to punch someone!    :scared:

Once again, Thanks to all yall for making this the best Texas Sweat ever and for allowing me to consider each of you my brother.

Sincerely
Gary "Pop" Kellar

Yep Mr. "POP" Kellar successfully converted me from my usual brew to a dressed Tecate after only 6 hours of being on the ranch.  :D    :wavey:  Thanks Pop, That will be last time I refer to you as Mr. Kellar. I just had to throw it in there one more time. Thanks for all you did Gary, It did not go unnoticed.   :notworthy:

Yep, Gary is an integral part of The Sweat Logistics Team...couldn't have a proper Sweat without him. I think we can add Rick to the list now too...he fit right in amongst us.

Big Boy Bobbo is probably a little preoccupied right now.  What with his sweet wife soon to leave on a one-year military deployment he's probably trying to get all his instructions prioritized so he can survive her absence.
