bowyers please: Bow finishes?
« on: January 11, 2008, 07:56:00 PM »
I would like to try a different finish than my Fuller plast. Any recomendations? I have heard that sherwin williams makes a decent one. Have any of you other bow builders tryed that one. also any recomendations on a good spray gun? I'm about due for a new one of those too. Thanks...Dan

I have tried SW Water White Conversion Dull Rubbed.  I liked it very much.  Dries quick. On spray guns there is a lot of them.  The best are SATA guns but they start at 300.00  Just google air spray guns and you will see how many there are.

I've tried several different things and nothing comes close to Thunder Bird in my opinion.  It's also one of the easiest to work with.

Well one thought I have,is get a gravity feed spray gun (cup on top) rather then a siffen (cup on bottom).I have a very expensive Devilbiss 4 oz.detail spray gun siffen type. It's one of the best they offer. But I also got a 100.00 gravity feed that does a much better job.The gravity feed will give you a much smoother finish ie no oragne peel........bd
