>> Deer Proposal: This proposal provides for the deer season to open the
>> 2nd Saturday of September and run through January 1st. On private lands
>> only, landowners, lessees, etc., will be allowed to hunt with the
>> weapon of their choice (Bow, ML or Rifle) during this entire season.
>> This proposed season will apply to the entire state. The bow, muzzle
>> loader and modern gun seasons will continue to apply on selected game
>> lands only. The purpose for this proposal is to produce a huge
>> increase in deer harvest immediately.
>> NCBA Comments: We see a very big problem with this proposal for deer
>> hunting and for ALL deer hunters. It will have a devastating effect
>> on both bow and muzzle loader seasons. It will adversely affect the
>> "quality" of deer harvested, and the quality of the deer hunting
