ATA Show
« on: January 14, 2008, 07:59:00 PM »
Did anyone go to the ATA show last weekend in Indianapolis?  I went Friday and Saturday.  I was surprised at the amount of trad stuff, not that there was alot, but there was some.  Alaska Bowhunting Supply and Three Rivers were there.  I got to shoot a DAS Dalaa, and some olympic bow.  I also got to hold a Tradtech, but they would not let me shoot it.

The coolest thing I was was a paintball attachement for a bow, I don't know how I could attach it to my widow, but I am sure I could figure out a way.  My wife threatend me so I did not get one, she is afraid it would just cause trouble with the neighbors, which is true.
Sights, SIGHTS, we don't need no stinkin sights!!!!!

If Geronimo shot a Black Widow, you would be speaking Apache.

LOL, we sell the paintball "Airrow" gun (among other things   ;)   ) and our booth was swamped all week.....It will work on any bow that accepts a standard rest or plunger so unless your Widow is drilled it won't work, sorry.

I wish I could get out more to see the show but I did also get to shoot the "Dalla" finally and let me tell you, I was really slamming them together with that puppy! WOW Something about both riser sizes really fit me well and were grouping tight and straight from the get go. I am trying to talk myself out of one as we speak.    :)

I also shot the Tomahawk Diamond SS and Thunderstorm. Pretty bows and shot well.

Did you take notice to the new (I think it was new?) Steelforce 2 blade single bevel 3:1 broadhead?
145grs in a screw in or glue on version.

I'm with Bowtech Archery. (We were the guys with that entire corner down by the paintball shooting with about 50 guys and 1000 bows LOL)

I was tied up for 3 days writing orders and going over the new line of bows and accessories.  It was nice to have 3 Rivers Archery so close by (Only 2-3 rows over right by the shooting lanes) So I could sneak over and shoot some bows and talk with Dale and his son a bit.

I'll tell ya if I didn't already have a pretty SA-V Widow there wouldn't be much hesitation ordering one of those Dalla recurves. Boy it shot nice but hard to justify when I already have one that shoots pretty darn nice too. LOL

Majestic Outdoors is a nonprofit faith based outdoors program.Mentoring troubled or at- risk youth through the outdoors is the main focus.Archery is a big part of the program. We mainly shoot traditional equipment. You may have seen a longbow hanging in our booth.I noticed the large quantity of bows in the Bowtech corner.Funny stuff   :clapper:

I wasn't eligible to win any of the dealer prizes (hunts etc) so I didn't buy a ticket this year. I was a little upset when they didn't bother to tell me that LAST year when I bought one.  :(

Some of our guys won stuff last year including a 4-wheeler, and this year a friend was 1 digit away from the $10,000.

We were also happily surprised at the number of trad shooters and dealers at the show. I talked to Danny Depuy from 3Rivers at the end of the show and he said that they were very busy all 3 days.

One of our "high-tech" friends from Canada won a hunt with a TV show couple (can't think of their names right now).

We had a great time, and everyone got very lucky with the traveling weather.

I was very excited to hear about these and sent an email to Steel Force about them. Nick (of Steel Force) asked me to call him and he explained that they are ready to go and are 3-4 weeks from production.
