Anything Dissolve Cured URAC ?
« on: January 17, 2008, 10:25:00 AM »
It never fails, I am always slipping out to the shop to do one project and start two or three more while I am there. I seem to do quick gluing jobs in my nice clothes without thinking about putting on my shop apron. A couple of days later I notice I have a drop of URAC smeared on my coat, pants or some other clothing.

This stuff seems as permanent as anything out there. Just wondering, is there anything that will clean cured URAC off cloth?

I've found the biggest trick is to get it while it's still liquid.  Only takes water to get it out then.  After it's dry you're pretty much stuck with it(pun intended    ;)   The only way I've found to get it off after it's dry is to scrape/pull it off.  Maybe someone else has a better method that will chime in.  Take care Eric, Matt

Yeah, I was wearing my favorite fleece pullover and messing around in the shop.  2 little dabs got on the sleeve and are still there.

Once it penetrates and cures, I have not found a way to get it out without a pair of scissors.  I caught myself last night as I wandered into the shop and before I knew it, the bandsaw was going.  I was wearing my beloved Colts Superbowl Hoodie, you know the one from last year when we actually won in the playoffs.  I promptly covered it with the Carhart that serves as my cold weather shop coat.
Take a kid hunting!

For the Colt's fleece an acetylene torch would get it out.    :p

Don't slam the Colts to bad at least they can get to the playoffs. The only good thing about the Chiefs going 4 and 10 is You can buy t-shirts and coats really cheap for work clothes. Would You Jets fans like Your coach back?
