I cant imagine a better more well rounded bow. I have had one pc. and take down recurves as well as take down and 1 pc longbows. All were bullet proof and solid. There are faster and prettier bows out there but as far as a rock solid hunting bow a widow cannot be beat. Thier customer servise is second to NONE also.

I was fortunate enough to shoot a Widow when I first began shooting traditional archery, and I think being able to shoot that bow really helped with my love for this sport. I have yet to shoot a bow that was as pure and true since then and will be purchasing one here in the near future.

Over the last twenty years I have owned and shot the following, Asbel's Bighorn recurve, Mike Palmer Recurve 2 each, Elberg "Raghorn" longbow, Wing Redwing hunter, Wing Thunderbird, Saxon Selkirk, Saxon Mongoose, Two GreatNorthern Longbows mods I can't recall, Glenn Paker Gray Wolf, a couple of Bob Lee's bows, and several others that slip my mind at this time.

Each of those bows were class acts, and I took game with many of them.  Having said that, when I got my first Widow in 2001, it was love at first sight.  My girlfriend now calls me a "Bow Snob" as I have recently sold them all and only have three bows,  all Widows.  You can see the  models listed below,  I just want one more, PSR.

Having shot traditional bows for more than 40 years, I feel that my opinion is not bias.  They are, at least for me, the best bows I have ever shot. There may be some bows as good, but there are none better.  I have been very impressed with the service after the sale, Ken Beck talked me through a shooting problem for over an hour on the phone.  That impressed me, and keeps me a customer.

Gents,

Thanks for all the opinions, i am new to the trad. gear and respect all opinions, good or bad. I fell in love with the "look" of the bow also. A few close friends have widows and told me they were great but they dont have the experience this forum provides.

I have had 2 psr v ironwood recurves, sold the first like a dumb#%^& and then turned around and bought the same thing a year later. Absolutly fantastic bows and great people to deal with at black widow. This is my go to bow.

Doeboy:

I've been shooting BW bows since the late 1980s- take-down recurves, a one-piece recurve and a longbow. These bows are as reliable as Tom Brady and as durable as Brett Farve. I'm not so close minded as to claim that these are the nicest bows out there, but I can tell you based on twenty years of firsthand experience, that these bows are among the best in terms of overall quality, performance and durability. And the owners at Black Widow could TEACH courses on what it takes to keep customers happy.

I too, have owned many (very many) bows over the years. I hate to think of the amount of money I have spent! I ALWAYS have a Widow on the bow rack and ultimately, I will grab the Widow when I head to the woods. I truly believe you won't be disappointed. A few years back I had a Caribou hunt planned and found that the more I practiced with my bow (not a Widow), the worse I shot. I "borrowed" a SAIII recurve from Ken Beck and killed two Caribou with it. Great bows and great folks! Mike
