WOW this is a great fourm

Hi,
This is my first post. I have had a few bows in the past but never really got into archery seriously. So I have a few questions.
Im thinking about getting this bow to learn how to shoot instictively. Also if one day I get good enough I can hunt squirrel and rabbit with it. I am looking to spent very little as I will be getting a more expensive bow to hunt larger game. What do you think?

Also what size groups can ya'll shoot on adverage
at say 20 yards. I have no idea of what is considered ok accuracy with a long bow.
Thanks

I just bought that same bow in a 48" 20# for Christmas for my son. He is eight and it is his first bow. Already he is shooting groups of about 6" at 30 feet.
For the money the bow is nice but it will need a better rest than the one that comes with it if you shoot off a rest.

I have had good experience with this type of bow for teaching Boy Scouts. Pretty near indestructible if a bunch of boys 11 1/2 to 18 can't manage to break them year after year. A good starter.
As for shooting groups, I practice and whatever distance I can keep my arrows in a group the size of a grapefruit, that is how far I would take a shot. It used to be about 5 yards, but I'm up to 15 now, and 20 if I were to push the envelope a little.
And welcome!

There are a lot of good bows out there. You don't need to spend a lot to get started. I shot 10 rounds this morning into the lid from a soup can at 20 yards. Some days I can't hit the side of a barn.
Practice form, practice shooting.
