Love struck
« on: January 21, 2008, 09:45:00 AM »
Man oh man. Was at the bow shop “open house”  this weekend and shot a few bows, wasn’t really looking for anything, I was just checking things out and enjoying the festivities. I fell in love with this hybrid longbow. It’s a little odd looking, but cool. But the big catch was how absolutely dead silent & smooth drawing it was. You would swear the weight was easily 5 pounds if not more lighter. The more bows I shoot the more I figure out what I like and even though a bow draws nice and is quiet, that doesn’t mean it “fits” me. This bow however FIT. I didn’t even have to think or anything, I just looked at where I wanted to hit and the arrow went there. Regardless of what distance I was shooting at.

I foresee another trip this week to shoot a bow in the draw weight range I want, and maybe order one if I can’t find anything. I don’t like to make any impulse purchases, that’s why I decided to give it a few days and go back to shoot the rest of the lineup.

Well, you didn't mention price from the get-go, so it must be love!

You are doing the right thing in searching for one that fits and is EXACTLY what you want.  Hopefully, you will have it and hunt with it a long time.  If it is anything like bows of mine, they become old friends after while.

I hope you find your soulmate.

Jim

They show up at B'mo...made a pretty li'l pink action wood one for gals that they were rafflin chances on... I think it used to be Allegheny.

Ole Gent is a hoot who started it and now has his nephew or like relative working with him if memory serves me...
The words "Child" and "terminal illness" should never share the same sentence! Those who care-do, others question!
