Buff & 'mascus folder (PIC HEAVY!!)
« on: January 18, 2008, 03:41:00 PM »
Here's a few pics of my first Friction Folder.

Blade; 3" Cable Damascus
Liners; 1.5mm Stainless
Back-Spacer; 3.6mm 01, fileworked & HTd
Handle; Honey/Grey Buffalo horn
Friction spacers; Silicon Bronze

This is the first folder I've attempted. It's a dang sight more difficult than I thought, getting the stop pins in the correct places!
The blade was given to me by a good friend & cable-mascus afficionado, as a plain blank. I forged it from a stick-tang fixed blade to this little beauty, leaving his stamp intact (no mean feat itself!)
The whole thing took around 18hrs from start to finish.

NICE!    :clapper:

Jeff, where'd you get the pattern for *my* knife?  I just spent an hour sketching up a ring-back folder to get things right!

Awesome knife Rob!!!!
