54" Bob Lee
« on: January 21, 2008, 08:29:00 PM »
I shoot a Palmer recurve. 60".  I'm thinking of doing some hunting out of an enclosed blind. A 54" bow would work.  Has anyone tried the Bob Lee?  I only pull 27".  Do these bows stack?  I'm thinking of going to Kalamazoo to try one out.  Just wondering if it's worth the trip.

They do not stack out to 28"s at least, if ya want a bow that is short and a better performer that does not stack or pinch to 30"s try a  54" RER Arroyo. Both great bows but the Arroyo has it in performance and shootablity. Shawn

considering your draw is 27"s about any 54"er out there will do the job.

remember, what works for one shooter might not be best for you. bows have different grips and that's what I always look for is how it feels in my hand. I'd go shoot some 54"ers before I spent the cash.

jus' my 2cents

I recently shot a new 45lb. Dark Archer and a new 45lb.Bear Kodiak Mag. "side- by-side" so to speak.  The Bob Lee was WAY faster.  Big difference.  It was also a smooth bow.  My draw length is around 261/2 or so.  I'm glad it wasn't a 50lb. bow or I might would have gotten into the ole' checkbook.

I shot a Dark Archer and was impressed with its performance. Smooth, no stack, plenty fast and quiet. The bow was made to shoot out of blinds. If you want a short recurve, I would not rule out the Dark Archer.  :bigsmyl:

I have a Bob Lee 54" Elite, it is one great shooting bow. Feels as good or better than some 60" bows I have owned.  I draw 28" and there is no feeling of finger pinch; the bow is fast and quiet.

:campfire:

I have 2 custom made bows by Bob Lee and I don't have any complaints about either one of them. I took 3 does with my HUNTER T/D (dark grey w/black limbs)this past season and the bow performed flawlessly. I then bought a DARK ARCHER, as you can see in my set up) and also picked up 20 fps and 7 more #'s K.E.(SAME ARROW)You can't go wrong with Bob Lee ARCHERY. The quality and craftsmanship is second to none and the people you deal with are great. Sandy will answer your questions or you can speak to Rob Lee and he'll help you out. Good people to deal with and good bows to boot.

My husband pulls 28".  He shot a 54" Bob Lee and loved it.  It was 45#  I believe.  He said he felt no stack, and he loved it's powr.  Hope this helps.

I used my 54" Bob Lee in my double bull all last spring. It was easy to shoot out of a blind with and it's a nice bow all around. mine is 47# @28"  and I draw 27" no stacking or finger pinch.
