Fox River Knife Rendezvous
« on: June 04, 2008, 10:37:00 AM »
If any of you guys are from Northern Illinois, Southern Wisconsin, Southern Michigan, etc, I thought I might put out a little invitation to you!
It will be July 19th.
For the last three years, a knife collector/enthusiast has put on a two day/1 night "get together" of knife makers/collectors/enthusuiasts and otherwise trouble makers, up on the Fox River out west and North of Chicago. It's in a great setting along the Fox River in a park-like setting. I don't drink, myself, but I'll bet there are those of you who might enjoy some cold tap brew, at least two roasted hogs, all kinds of other food and frolic, not to mention about 150-200 people/makers/collectors/bikers and hot chicks hangin' out and talking about KNIVES!!!
I think we'll have a power hammer there this year, as well as forging demos, little instruction demos about cord wrap, inlay, etc., etc., etc.
There are no real accomadations, but plenty of room to toss up a tent to make the best of the weekend.
A little previous notice is appreciated so plenty of food is available.
Hope some of you can make it!!
When the last deer disappears into the morning mist,
When the last elk vanishes from the hills,
When the last buffalo falls on the plains,
I will hunt mice for I am a hunter and I must have my freedom.
Chief Joseph

Man, it sounds like fun! I have a show in August and have to get ready or I would consider it. Karl, be sure and take some pictures and give us a report.

I'll be doing the forging demos this year with Jerry Rados. If I can get someone else to take pics, I'll do it.
When I get an itinerary I'll post it.
