St Judes Beer Blade Finished
« on: August 06, 2008, 08:54:00 PM »
With the Auction, Bear Quest, Denton Hill, and the hot weather...forging was the furthest thing from my mind.  Finally got some cool temps to fire up the forge and finish Corey's Beer Blade.  I had offered it at the last minute with a case of beer and a para cord handle.  Then I felt real good and a little guilty with the price it commanded for the Kids  ;)   So I offered either the case of beer or a nice wood handle.  Guess I made out OK since I get to keep the case of beer...just hope Corey likes birds eye maple!  Corey's is the top Beer Blade and will be in the mail this weekend.  Corey...Thanks for supporting the kids!

Gotta tell you, these knives are a real kick in the pants to pull from your side and open a bottle of Root beer or the real thing.  Kinda like the Traditional Swiss Army knife but these go from skinning a bear to a long cool drink  :bigsmyl:  Doc

Those are really nice Doc. The second one looks like the one you showed me at Denton? Looks like you've got to go over and help your SIL out in the machine shop some more.  :bigsmyl:

I just got it today.  It's beautiful.  VERY happy to help the kids!  for that alone, it was a bargain.

I'd be happy to further help the kids if anyone knows how to make a sheath for this thing.  It's scary sharp!

Opened a beer tonight with it.  Can't wait to open an elk with it in less than 3 weeks!

Cory,  That blade already opened a bunch of Beers & Bears this spring...so there should be some good mojo with it.  Good luck Elk Hunting...Doc
