I built one with Yew lams with a Kingwood riser.  Really like the look.  Shoots pretty good too.

Kingwood, cocobolo, dark stained quilted Maple or bocote. I have a Kingwood BlackWidow PSAX and the Kingwood lams look great with the Kingwood riser

Bocote, cocobolo, kingwood, figured bubinga...or just about any of the "rosewood" lam's.

Stained actionboo would be nice too.

How about myrtle. I've got a beautiful kingwood and myrtle RER, but I like contrasting dark and light woods. Kingwood is very nice almost any way, I like it with black glass too.

I have an arrow inlay Thunderstick that as a Kingwood riser with Yew limbs. Looks very good.

Also I would think Quilted Maple or Waterfall Bubinga would be a good choice.
