christmas koa
« on: December 14, 2008, 06:57:00 PM »
Here is one I did for an old friend's son for his Christmas present. Dad picked out the wood and I put it all together. Forged from 1084, 9.5" oal, blade is 4.75" tip to guard. Gard is nickel with spacers.

I guess it kinda does look like maple, but the picture does not do this piece of wood justice. It is one of the nicest chunks of wood I have seen! I would like to keep this one for myself!!

Thanks for the nice words. I hope young Nick will like it.

Every thing they said tom.

Very nice.  And you've given a family an heirloom.

Cool!

Was the Koa stabilized or natural?  It's striking.
