O1 ringer

Here's one I sent out for a gift exchange on another forum:  Blued O1, Stabilized Black cherry burl that I think I found when I was hunting with Aram  :thumbsup:  , and a mosaic pin that got washed out by the flash  :rolleyes:  .

Thanks guys, I appreciate the kind words.  This one was a pretty zen experience.  It was for another knife maker so I was especially conscious about it being absolutely flaw free (except maybe the streaky bluing  :rolleyes:  ), and after it was all done, I snapped a few pics and said goodbye.
A zen exercise if ever there was one!!

Really cool! I have been noticing more blued knives and parts while digging around. How do You do it? I have cold blued a muzzle loader kit will that process work?If so does it have to be a certain type of steel?Sorry if I ask as many questions as a third grader! Thanks C-YALL Bob  :notworthy:

This knife blade was done with cold bluing. Works pretty good as long as you get any oil and stuff off.

Beautiful work Clarence!!  
I used Birchwood's cold blue and it was pretty much a no brainer as long as you clean the metal up real well and follow the directions.  I like their plum brown as well, but not as much for knives cause you do have to heat the metal up to almost 300degrees and its a process to keep the epoxy and scales from being affected (not real difficult, just a pain), when you want to do a quick touch up.  Cold blue much easier for the lazy man(ME).

Kind of an old Sharp Finger design with a Karambit finger loop twist.  

Very cool take on a classic.
