Damascus Mammoth Ivory Gift Knife
« on: February 03, 2009, 08:54:00 AM »
This is a knife I did for the man that lets me and some friends hunt his property. It is a 1095 and 15N20 Nickel Damascus blade. Handle in mammoth ivory with red, black and white spacers. It also has mosaic pins. The blade is 3-1/2" and the oal is 7". Enjoy!

P.S. Ivory can be tough to work! Had to use lots of clear epoxy to fill the cracks and try to cut down on flaking as I worked it. I guess it is just part of the material.
'cuz deer huntin' ain't catch & release!

Bet he lets you hunt again next year!!
Excellent.
When the last deer disappears into the morning mist,
When the last elk vanishes from the hills,
When the last buffalo falls on the plains,
I will hunt mice for I am a hunter and I must have my freedom.

You can come hunt my place for one like that. Prattville isn't that far away.
I always hit where I'm aiming, but rarely where I'm looking.
