Lawren, Could you explain bevel geometry a little more. Does blade shape, width and thickness affect the amount of bevel? I haven't attempted to make a knife yet but I'm addicted to this forum. You guys amaze me with how you can recycle various metal scrap and create new and useful tools. Thanks for any help. Drew

A wonderful build=along. Are you going to sell blueprints for the forge?

DC. yes, thickness means larger bevels. if you look closely at the diagram, it'll tell you how wide your bevel should be for a given angle vs thickness

The only part I could critique is the close up shots near the end are not well focused.  I was very interested in seeing how well that knife turned out.   Otherwise.....  cool!    I really appreciated your time and effort to teach me how to make my own knife.

Sorry chuck, the cam I used just dont like close ups, it's about 10 years old. I have a new one on order, should be in in a week or so, I'll update the pics.
