Cade's "Custom" from Jeremy

Jeremy being the great guy he is, presented Cade with this...
   

At Shawn's JLMBH, his first ever knife and a custom no less! Jeremy called it a certain type blade,but I don't remember what he called it. Said it was good for kids though. I couldn't agree more...it's perfect!  Thank you so much brother!!!!!!!

I'm glad Cade likes the knife Curt!  Let me know if you want a RH sheath.  I forgot that although he shoots like a southpaw he does most other stuff with his right.  It's really cool how it matches his new bow quiver though!

The blade is essentially a spey blade with the tip rounded rather than the normal little clip.  The rather blunt tip prevents little guys from doing too much damage if they poke themselves.  A good first knife that's still useful later on.

The blade was actually clay coated during the quench, just not etched or specially polished.  If you hold it at the right angle you can see the hamon.  I figure when he gets a little older I'll clean the knife up a bit and wipe some acid on it in front of him to show what was "hiding" in his knife the whole time  :D

Skippy, both those knives are out of 1095.  An easier steel to start forging with is 1084 though if you're thinking of giving it a go.

I gave Curt his knife 3 years ago and I'm betting it looks quite a bit different by now

That'll be cool bud....he can't keep his hands off of it. It's been on two adventures with us already    

As far as mine...yes' it looks a bit different from "use"....but it well taken care of

Skippy, I don't have any special suppliers.  Jantz, TX knife, Admiral Steel, McMaster-Carr... all depends on what I'm going after and how much of it I want.

Curt, eventually you'll have to tell me what style knife you want and I'll need to get one in your hands that has my stamp on it.
