Will fire brick out of a woodstove work for making a brick forge? Is there a certain type I should look for? I am trying to find some localy.
I found some back in the woods inside an old fire arch they used to make maple syrup on.

look up
www.elliscustomknifeworks.com
then look under fire brick you need a soft insulating fire brick. get the 3 x 9 inch one, i order 3 for 27.00 that also included the insurance.
