Thing are come along well since moving here to Canada. Found a bunch of local suppliers for thing I need in knife making.
I just finished up my forge and I am very happy with it. Still planning to build a bigger one, but this will sevre for my current heat treating needs.
It is made from 3 insulated brick (3" X 4-1/2" X 9") rated for 2300 degrees. The inner chamber is 2-1/4" diameter by 10" long. A plumbers propane torch I brought with me from Chile. It has a 7/8" head. The fire brick is incased in aluminum. With 20 psi it gets a blade up to non-magnetic in about 3 minutes. Crank the pressure back to around 5 psi and it will hold a blade just above non-magnetic as long as you would like. Took about 15 minutes to get a 1" diameter X 1-1/2" long 52100 bearing roller up to forging temp.
Enjoy
