Yesterday I purchased a couple of 2114's for my Quillian patriot 55#,s at 28 in. I went into the backyard and started shooting bareshafts full length with a 145 grain point. The nock ends were kicking bad to the left ( I am right handed ) so I started cutting the shafts down to stiffen the spine and they started flying straight. By the time I got them cut down to fly straight I only have about an inch in front of the bow.
Problem #1 These arrows only weigh 486 grains total and I would like to shoot at least 525 but if I add more point weight they will be underspined. Is there any way to add weight some where besides the point.
Problem #2 This problem may make porblem #1 not a problem any more. I have ordered a Fastflite string for this bow and the one I am shooting now is dacron will I need to add spine for the Fastflite string.
I guess what I am asking is will I be able to make this arrow work or do I need to just scrap it right now and try something with a little stiffer spine.
Thanks
