Mickey : I'm not sure on the wood as it was given to me from clean out of a knife company. It is all laminated and kitchen grade for use in water .
Thanks for the compliments. Drew

What was your softening and re-hardening system. Is it something a newbie with a blowtorch can do.

Razor : You could do it with a torch , just heat to nonmagnetic and let cool slowley. Then to harden heat to nonmagnetic again and quench in veg oil and let cool . Then heat up to 450 in a toaster oven for an hour and your done. Drew
