Need Help buying quiver leather
« on: June 06, 2009, 10:24:00 PM »
I plan on making another back quiver. My first quiver was made of leather that was not stiff enough. Therefore it moved and sagged under its own weight.

So, this time around I plan on buying the right leather for the job. I am open to your suggestions on weight and pliability rating.

I would really like to order the leather from Tandy leather so I can also pick up a few tools and some dye and finish.

Ideally, I would want to keep this project as cheap as possible.

Thanks for the suggestions. -Arthur

I would get 8-9 oz. tooling leather, vegetable tanned. They have some economy grades at tandy that would work fine for that. Just find a piece with a nice tight grain on the flesh side, no fuzz or fluff.
Good luck!
