First Forged blade finished
« on: September 10, 2009, 11:33:00 PM »
I finally finished my first forged blade from the ABS "Intro" course at Haywood CC in June.

6" blade 10 3/4 OAL
Stained curley maple coffin handle with silver wire inlay, mild steel file worked guard.  Tooled sheath with scrimmed "Half Moon" on whitetail antler. My first try at scrimshaw.

Fun stuff !!!!   How did I do?

Thanks Steve

Going to a course or getting pro instruction saves a lot of pain & frustration.

Great job.

Thanks for the positive comments from all!  And words of encouragement from the Pro members is always great, thanks Lin.

my current project is a drop point/spear point (have not decided yet) with 416 SS finger guard and Cocobolo handle.

Thanks, Steve

If you ever get a hankering to sell it let me know!  Excellent first effort!  You should post on the Blade Forums or Jerzee Devil, tons of info and advice from custom makers and blade smiths.  keepem sharp
