Been a while...
« on: January 02, 2010, 12:41:00 AM »
First off, its good to be back. Nice going through the forum and seeing all the new work. Very nice, everyone.

My absence lately is due to somewhat of a disaster, if you will. My family and I lost our home to a fire recently. We are recovering and are currently stable, but still a bit shook up from it all.

Ive had a lot of things on my mind and being in the shop helps with the stresses, so Ive been fairly busy.

Heres one I turned out the other day. Bowie/Hunter with brass furniture and waterfall bubinga scales. 1080 steel with bevels flat ground to a zero edge. False edge up top isnt sharpened. Left the forge scale on to resemble the "Brut de forge" look. Not my best work, but I'm happy with it.

I apologize in advance for the terrible pictures. Indoor lighting + decent picture = Impossible

Kid,
First, I'm really sorry about your misfortune. I hope you guys are recovering well. I seems that you have'nt let this keep you down too much. Your continuing to be productive is a great sign of the "right stuff".
Your work has made some vast improvements in the short time you've been making knives. That is a very attractive knife. Good work. Lin

Hey Kid Like Lin I am very sorry to hear about You losing Your Home.
Your Making some really purdie blades. The brass really looks good on that with the dark left on the blade plus the color of that wood. I really like that knife.
 Wishing Y'all good things! Bob
