Best Hunting Knife

Hi Everyone,

So I know these is no right answer to this...but I am looking for opinions on hunting knives.... my "desire" is for a knife in the 4" "ish" blade range, leather sheath and wooded handle. (would consider other materials, but no bone, antler or turquoise etc.).  I am hoping to find something under $100, and sharpness (and ease of keeping sharp) is my #1 hope. I have an ugly knife that gets the job done but ever since I started shooting pretty bows I have wished for a non ugly knife without compromising function.

Any ideas?

There are lots of knives in that price range, Buck, Gerber,Case,CRKT and a bunch more. All depends on the style and blade shape you think you need or like. I really like a good blade, I tend to go bigger than I need just cause I like a big one!! Good luck in your hunt for your new companion!!

Stickshooter, makes beauties that will fit into your price parameters. I have one of his along with 1 of Tippit's, which I had made into an "Arm Guard Knife". [ but Jeff does not sell his]  

I recently picked up 2 beautiful damascas knives from "Skullworks", for not much over what your hoping to spend.

Both guys are sponsor's here and their knives can often be found "for sale" in the "Sponsor's classifieds".  You owe it to yourself to check them out.

Very very true....except for mine.....its a buck vanguard with a guthook....it does the job great I ma just ready for something different....I want to pass my current knife to my father who is just getting into hunting

You ever think of buying a quality blade of the design you want then finishing the handle out?  That way you can get just what you want and will have put it together yourself.

But the comments above are correct.  There are some fantastic knife makers on here that can most likely fill your requirements.
