Stos Tip Modifications

Do you Stos users modify the tip? If so please post your pics,, Thanks,,Frank

Here's one of mine.  It doesn't take much, a little bit can make a big difference.  I copy the Grizzly tip in miniature.

   

This was an older head, the newer ones are have the needle taken down already, but not quite this much.

I do the same, or round the edge at the point about the same amount as the tanto.

Is there a significant difference between the Stos and the Zwickey Delta?  (other than weight)

That picture above looks like a black Zwickey.

Significant?  No.  The Delta is a little wider and has a slightly convex blade.

Now the Zwickey No Mercy, the new one, is about a dead ringer for a STOS, although the STOS still comes in heavier weights.  STOS is working on even heavier heads and single bevels.  The No Mercy is supposed to be out soon in a single bevel as well.
