a little primitive knife i made
« on: April 23, 2010, 04:22:00 AM »
hey guys i just finished my 1st stone knife.
it's made from dacite. a guy off the primitive archer site traded me some rock for some shark and kangaroo leather i had.

the blade is about 3" long, not huge but i'm stoked at having made my 1st stone knife. i hafted it to a piece of whitetail antler the guy sent me. i used some pine pitch and sinew to haft it. the pine pitch and sinew i made/harvested myself.

looking forward to putting it to use.

Nice.  Do they have dacite in Oz?  I like it better than obsidian.

That rocks.  Time to carve up a buffallo with that one as a durability test.  Nice work, looks really good.
