Should you clean your sharpening stones? If so w/ what? I have heard soap and water for diamonds, how about for your standard stones.
Thanks, Phil

You can use soap and water, but kerosene works real good. WD-40 and others too, but the main thing is to float the steel shavings away where the stone can cut. I use Arkansas stones and these are some of the things I do. Lin

I use kerosene as the "oil" on my norton stone. Just wipe it off when your done and it always looks and cuts like new! I hear simple green works good too.
