bone making for handle knife

i will get a raw cow bone ( any particular one ? ) will still have meat on it i'm sure  now  how do i dry it boil or what is the process to make it in to a knife handle  thank you jackie

I don't know if you have a choice in the bone you get but the shin bone is a good one to use (I think it is). Are you going to have a hidden tang knife and use the whole bone for the handle or is the knife going to be full tang and your going to cut the bone in half the shape it to the blade handle?

its going to be a full tang knife. when possible i like to make everything from start to finish. jackie

Go to a supermarket with a meat shop in it and ask for a soup bone, see if they have any big enough for the handle of you knife.
If I am wrong let me know it.
