Another Three Rasp Knives
« on: December 07, 2010, 08:42:00 PM »
Ok, So I have been on a heavy rasp knive run lately.  I am wrapping up a run of colonial era style knives using old forging and finishing methods.  The three knives are a 6.5 inch bladed drop point hunter, a 5 inch bladed mini bowie knife I made for a bow trade, and the last one is a 9 inch pig hunting knife.  The first two have deer antler handles that last knife has elk antler.  All three have cocabolo butt caps which accent the antler color nicely.

Nice work, Clay-really like the blade profile on that first one.  Am hopefully meeting up with a guy tomorrow who's going to give me a bunch of his old rasps.  Maybe someday I'll be able to make some nice ones like you  :) .

Jeremy,

Just keep working at it and you will be there in no time.  I noticed you changed plans on your forge.  Do you still want some of the soft fire brick?  Also I just got a bunch of thin red kydex.  As in a ton of it in strips.  If you want so to make scale liners or handle seperators let me know by email and I will send some your way.
