Fillet/boning knife

Anybody ever try to make a fillet/boning knife?

i to would like to make fillet knives i have an old cross cut hand saw that i might try to use for some blades.  any of the more experianced fellas have any ideas?

Well,at the request of a co-worker for a fishermans knife one time,I made one that looks like a fillet knife out of a sawmill blade (5/32 thick) because he wanted it made the same thickness as what I make all my other knives for general purpose use
(I don't know why) I did it anyway for him but I really wanted to thin it down or use some thinner stock that would be more flexible.I'd say the cross cut saw would be great for a fillet knife.

That is a good looking knife Oldpaths!

You can buy stock as thin as you want it.  It is harder to work with than thicker stock.

I've made 3 fillet and 2 boning and 2 caping knives.
