A bumby road to get this one off the bench
« on: June 13, 2011, 01:04:00 PM »
I have been working hard to get my many half-finished knives off of the bench. My brother in law drew this one out and I forged close to shape. Blade is 1084, handle is elk. The fittings are stainless, copper and blued 5160. This is the first knife I made with alignment pins in ferrule and pommel. Other firsts were using antler, attaching a coupler nut to the tang and brazing a screw to the butt cap.

Very, very nice work!  I really like that handle.

If they keep coming off the bench like that I would not start any more until there are none left on the bench. Congrats on accomplishing this one with new methods.  Its good to test the limits of our skills, helps make the next one better than the last.
