My Trip to the Blade Show 2011
« on: June 17, 2011, 09:41:00 AM »
OK OK.....Ron...YOU were covered up the 3 times I came back...stood around watching the pitch on 'The Ultimate Knife' just down from you but you never got free.

Meeting Ron, Lin, and Carl were the main reasons I came to the show....although....now I'm REAL interested.

I saw about a 10th of the show, and could have gone broke....Not just knives either...but accessories and the Fenix light display....WOW...they have a lot more than just the ones the Wensel's sell...and not bad pricing either....the guy that custom makes sheaths for your own knife...and can even make a piggie pack on that sheath for another knife or leatherman.

I want to see what Dan Mason makes out of that stump of Iron wood he bought....and thanks to Ray will help getting in and directions of the facility.

Lord Willing....I will be back next year and make a DAY of it....I want to see the whole show now.

BTW...anyone got $1800 I can borrow?....Man, Lin had a large camp knife I was drooling over big time!!!! I've never been much into big knives, but that one REALLY got my heart strings strummin...and I still can't get it out of my head!!!

Lin...how about a pic of it....you know, the one the Belgian help you with. Please keep those specs down to a T would ya....that thing was perfectly balance and the blade had the coolest lines.

Thanks to all that welcomed me so friendly....again, I'll be back next year.

All you guys on this forum should think about making this...and we'll find a place to all have dinner Saturday night or something.

Thanks Terry. Boy, dinner sounds great on Saturday.

The knife is at the photographer's now and I should be getting a copy soon and I'll post it up. I really appreciate your involvement with us on the knife crafters forum. I had several guys stop in and say hi. Bill Mcbride stopped by for one. He says he has trouble getting connected but watches TG a lot, so hello Bill. Now that the Blade Show is over, I want to get my new Tall Tines recurve out and shoot it. Cant wait.

Terry, Saturday would definitely be the best bet for dinner as we are traditionally covered up with banquets on Thursday and Friday and could appreciate something a little more down-to-earth.
Found an awesome out of the way place called "Shane's Rib Shack" that would be a great venue for a motley crew like ours.
I truly did enjoy our visit and look forward to next year.
Maybe before - never know.

I will hunt mice for I am a hunter and I must have my freedom.
