Project complete
« on: July 09, 2011, 10:48:00 PM »
The first knife and sheath are all done.  It's been a ton of fun and I can't wait to get started on the next one.  Sorry for the iPhone pics.  I was just anxious to get the post up.   :)   I'll get some better shots tomorrow with the camera.

Thanks for looking.

Great work on your first knife! Be careful though, pretty soon all you will be able to think about will be sharp things!  :)

Very Nice RS - I really like the design and ergonomics of the knife.  On your next sheath I would suggest a welt(I think that is what it is called) a piece of leather between the two folds at the stitch line.  This will eliminate the issue of the sharp pointed thing cutting the stitches going in and out over time.  The pic looks as though you may not have done this but if I am mistaken I appologize.

When I make my sheaths I use contact cement to hold them together with the welt and drill small hole pattern in the three pieces of leather.

Again, very nice work

Thanks guys.

Bob, there is a welt there, you just can't see it in the photo.  It follows the entire stitch line.  The camera angle just doesn't show the three layers.
