Andy,

You might try Jantz Supply in Davis, Oklahoma.  www.knifemaking.com  I know some knife makers who buy blank blades and other supplies there.

Jantz is good. Sheffield and Texas Knife supply as well as Alpha Knife Supply. The auction website is good if you stick with American producers for damascus.

If you just want a few try to work a deal with one of the guys that forge here on tradgang, works for me, plus you are getting one off blades made by fellow gangers.

I'm also looking to make knives for my two brothers for deer season this year.  Both like guthook knives and I see that Jantz has an inexpensive 440c Koval blade.  Does anyone have experience with Koval blades and know if those are made in the USA?  I found info that Jantz bought them but I'd like to know whether they actually manufacture the blades here or if they're an importer.

I'd love to make a knife or two using a blank from a Gang member, I just don't know that I could afford the kind of work you guys do.     :notworthy:

Thanks,
Rusty
