Hello everyone,
I build this knife as part of a trade for a Hay-Budden 167 pound anvil (built in 1923). This is a big knife for a big man (6'-4" 280 lbs.) that likes big toys. His daily driver is an F250 Disesl with a 12" lift and 44" tire.
The knife was made from a 1-1/2 diameter by 4-1/2" long 52100 bearing roller, that was forged down into bar stock. After forging the blade was finished via stock removal.
Specs:
Flat ground 52100 blade heat treated to a RC60
15-3/4" overall lenght
10-1/2" Guard to tip with a 10" cutting edge
0.200" Thick at the ricasso
1-7/8" at the widest point
416 Stainless guard, ferrule, and 3/16" pin with black paper micarta spacers
Stabilized Maple burl
8oz Hand tooled and dyed sheath
Thanks for looking,
James
