Brace height on Gamemaster II
« on: January 29, 2008, 09:29:00 PM »
I'm just getting started in traditional archery and a little confused about brace height. I am accustomed to working on my compound and having a specific brace measurement to set to. My recurve has a range of 7-8 as listed on Hoyt's website. Will my bow shoot equally well at any setting within this range or can I find a brace that is optimal for my set-up? It is at 7 right now, what can I expect if I increase this to 8? Any help on this matter will be greatly appreciated.

For every inch of brace you lose/gain 4% of performance. The key is to find the height that shoots the quietest on any given bow and produces the least hand shock.

My GMII is most quiet at 7-7/8 inch brace height.
