« on: November 08, 2011, 06:05:00 PM »
im looking for a belt grinder and dont have a ton of money so im wondering from what models are worth buying and which are not.  i would like to have a 2"x 72" , the way i see it is there is not a point in buying a smaller one than i really want.  i also dont really every plan on doing hallow ground blades. mostly flat and convex grinds.  thanks for your help.   JD

That was asked fairly recently here:   http://tradgang.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=110;t=003632

I've used my Bader B2 for 20 years with no problems, but I haven't tried others to compare it to.

Do a search.   I have a really nice variable speed 2 x 72 for $ 565.   I have put it thru it's paces and it  does everything I need it too.   The guy who built it is a garage builder who knows a lot about building a great grinder.  I can get you his phone number if your interested.
