I made this knife for my wife's uncle for his 80 something birthday. He has always been very complimentary of my knives and bows so I figured he might as well have one.
Curley walnut burl scales with leather dye. Brass finger guard bolsters with home made mosaic pins and red phenolic spacer. Pins are made from brass tube filled with red epoxy and black epoxy and small brass rods. Also filed a cross in the spine.
The cutting edge is 2-1/2" and overall length is 6-1/2". Blade is 11/16" at the widest point.
The sheath is darker than I expected. Stained with walnut dye. The basket weave pattern doesn't show very good because of the dark color.
This is one of my first knives with my makers mark and I managed to get a speck of something under the stencil and messed up my last name. That is extremely disappointing! Sure thought I had every thing clean!
Hope you enjoy the pictures in spite of the flaws. Mike
