Convex Edge Sharpening Tips

I'd always been a little reluctant to make the leap to a convex edge knife, figuring that the sharpening would be too complicated. For those who think the same, I'd recommend checking out this series of excellent short videos about sharpening and maintaining convex edges:

After watching them, I bet you'll agree that there's not that much to it, and that it may even be easier than flat grind blades. Enjoy.

A convex "edge" is not the same as a flat "grind".
My flat ground blades sometimes have a convex edge.

Bark river knives have these edges and I love them, especially when hunting. You don't have to carry a stone just a two sided leather strop with a piece of 600 grit sand paper, very light.
