Ceylon hunter
« on: March 22, 2012, 12:29:00 PM »
Now, every so often, I make a knife that I'd just rather not sell, and this is one of them.
In my puny knife maker's mind, this is what I think of when I consider the perfect belt knife.
It all just comes together on this one - for me.
So, I hope you can see a little of the forged in chatoyance in the steel, hot blued Damascus, stainless fittings and a really flawless chunk of Ceylon Ebony for the handle.
Just a sweet knife.
Thanks for letting me share.

When the last deer disappears into the morning mist,
When the last elk vanishes from the hills,
When the last buffalo falls on the plains,
I will hunt mice for I am a hunter and I must have my freedom.

I agree Karl.  Excellent in every way.  To me that knife screams use me, don't abuse me, but by all means use me!

Karl- can you explain how the chatoyance is forged in? Is this a byproduct of some damascus forging techniques?

Have a good time and sell a ton of knives! I have a show coming up in about 3 weeks, I can't wait!
