Armguard combo
« on: July 03, 2012, 08:46:00 AM »
Just finished this one up for a fellow Tradganger.  I had many influences from this site for both the knife and armguard, hopefully I was able to take their influence and make it my own without simply copying.  Knife is 1084 steel with leopardwood scales, and the armguard is deer rawhide over veggie tanned leather.

Sorry for the crappy pictures.  I just snapped a few quick ones with my cell phone and didn't notice how washed out they were.

very cool but i hate wearing a arm guard unless bulky clothes are on. i am always worried about string getting caught on things.  the knife being there would freak me out lol.  ive tried to wear a guard while practice shooting and the string hit the back of the guard and that was no fun.  but either way my story is of no importance  you did a great job on those they look great.

You didn't cut any corners on that duo.  Both look like they are built to last.  Thanks for sharing.

That package represents a lot of work, and it turned out very nice!  I like all the different materials you combined together.  And the forge scale on the blade always appeals to me.  It looks like you flaired the finger guard too!  Very nice!

I am the lucky one that Jonathan made this combo for. My initial thought was this thing is to nice to wear or use but I hope to break it in come Sept. I have read so many post about armguard combo's that I was hesitant to get one, being afraid I couldn't shoot it without hitting the knife but it is tucked up out of the way and I have gotten used to it pretty good. This thing is pretty sweet and he did a very good job on it! Awesome job Jonathan, now its time to make a knecker!!!
