Ziricote & W2 "BIG" Bowie
« on: November 08, 2012, 06:40:00 PM »
Forged from W2 round bar (1-1/2" x 4"), Overall 17", blade is 11-3/4" L x 2-1/4" W x 3/8" thick at ricasso.  Convex edge, sharp cplip, "working" polish to show hamon.  Handle is Ziricote,  which ive only used a few times, it sure works nicely.

Another fine knife Matt.  You never disappoint.  I think you have those big knives "down pat"!  :notworthy:

hi Karl, no on this one the guard is mild steel, was going to blue it but decided to leave in the white for contrast.   Ive done a few in the white, and was worried about staining etc. but it doesnt seem to be a big problem with minimal maintanance.
