I was thinking about a custom bowie knife....
« on: February 14, 2013, 04:26:00 PM »
I recently got a Morrison Shawnne made by Bob Morrison. I like the bow so much I was thinking about having a custom made Bowie knife to match. I have wanted a custom knife for a long time. Here is a picture of my bow.

I was thinking maybe a "short" Bowie 7.5 to maybe 8". With a bocote handle and maybe a Damacus blade. What do you guys think. I would use it as a all around knife, one to skin a deer with or do some light chopping around camp. Chime in with some suggestions!

There certainly are guys here who could be commissioned to build such a knife. Sounds good to me. Pretty bow. Now you need to see if Bob has some matching wood you could buy from him.

As Allan said there are a lot of guys here that could do that work for you.  Check out Karl Andersen's web page (he's a sponsor) Andersen Forge.  He has a ton of pictures on there of knives he has made and many Bowies and Hunters that would be very close to what you are talking about. He does some beautiful work.
