W2 pig sticker
« on: February 18, 2013, 10:58:00 PM »
This is my third hidden tang and my first contoured handle and guard. The handle is OD green G10, and the guard and spacer is blued mild steel. The face of the guard is hammer textured. The Blade is 9" long and has a nice active hamon and the OAL is 14.5". The hamon on the backside of the blade is a bit sporadic, but I think it looks pretty cool anyway. I don't do a lot of hidden tangs, because of the amount of time it takes to do one properly without a mill. Hopefully that will be remedied soon!
Anyway let me know what you guys think, all opinions welcome!!

I think it's a fine looking knife. Proper lines and built for speed. Handle has a little kick out at the heel for control. Sharpen the top 2 or 3 inches and it could double as a serious fighting knife. I personally like 10 to 12 inches but your work looks balanced and you should be proud of it.

I'm not usually a fan of large knives, most seem a bit clunky, but this knife is outstanding.   Beautiful job sir.
